Des Moines, IA - The results from the 2015 Iowa State Fair Photography Salon have been announced, and eighteen Des Moines Camera Club members garnered twenty-two awards.  Superintendent Charley Starnes made the announcements at a reception and awards ceremony on Sunday Aug 9, at the Cultural Center.  For this, the 76th year of the Salon, 806 images are displayed.  The entry of 3,330 images, from 1070 different photographers, was judged by a panel of three professional photographers.

Included in the honors achieved by Club members are Best in Show, Adult (Jerry Ranch, his second Best of Show),  Superintendent’s Choice, Color, Adult (Diane Darnielle), and Best of Black & White, Adult (Shane Abbitt).  In class competitions, Club members achieved five first places, three seconds, three thirds, and eight honorable mentions.  Of the images on display, fifty-four are from club members.  Members won fourteen of the seventy-four adult placements awarded.  Ranch also was one of four photographers that had four of four images displayed.
