How do you enter?
Turn your entries in to the Competition
Coordinator listed above. Club competitions are held monthly, with print
and slide/digital competitions alternating monthly. See the schedule page
to determine dates. It is preferred that you turn in your competition entries
to the coordinator by the DMCC 1st meeting of the month, but
no later than the Saturday before competition.

Did you know?
The North Central Camera Club Council (N4C) sponsors inter-club contests in 15
different categories, 12 of them are monthly. Each N4C camera club
can submit 8 entries in each of the 15 different categories every time that
contest is held.
Why Participate?
There are many reasons to participate:

What are the categories?

2 x 2 Pictorial Slides
These can be any subject.
Pictorialism may be accomplished by meticulous photographic technique,
proper presentation, and careful composition.

2 x 2 Nature Slides
Nature photography is intended to
convey the sense of the natural world, be that fauna, flora, or geology.
No hand of man can be present.

Black & White Pictorial
Prints (Class A & B)
These can be any subject. Class A
the photographer must both take the photograph and print the photograph.
Class B the photographer must have taken the picture, but a commercial
finisher was used to print it. Maximum size 16” x 20”

Nature Prints (Class A
& B)
Nature photography is intended to
convey the sense of the natural world, be that fauna, flora, or geology.
No hand of man can be present. Class A the photographer also printed
the photo, Class B a commercial photo finisher was used. Maximum size 16”
x 20”

2 –1/4 Slides
These can be any subject.

B)
These can be any subject. Class A
the photographer printed the photo, Class B a commercial finisher was used.

Contemporary / Creative
Prints & Slides
These can be any subject where an
experimental and creative forms of photographic expression is used.
These will include derived images, ultra-high contrast, black light,
bas-relief, solarization, multi-images, trick lenses and filters, and other
ways to alter the image to produce an abstract affect. Anything goes.
Prints maximum size 16” x 20”

Photojournalism Prints
& Slides
PJ means telling a story by the use of
a picture. An element of human interest is important. Captions are
important in this category. No mats on PJ prints. Can be mounted with
no borders - size either 8” x 10” or 8” x 12”

Photo Travel Slides
Photo-travel photography suggests the
photographic depiction of a new environment. Try to emphasize the
character that makes the place unique. Maximum size 16” x 20”

Stereo Slides
These can be any subject.

Slide Essay
The slide essay can be any subject.
